Obituary for MONTOYA

Manuel L. Montoya, aka "Big M" died on Monday, August 13, 2007 at the age of 69. He was a 30-year resident of Tucumcari. Manuel was born and raised in Canyon de Jemez. He was a truck driver for 30 years and retired from Consolidated Freight. He now takes his life journey to join his father, Adan; mother, Ramoncita Montoya; and sister, Jenny Chavez. Manuel is survived by his sisters, Rosie Padilla, Yvonne Zamora; and brother, Richard Montoya. He leaves behind six children, David, Mikey, Shari, Sonnyboy, Adam and Stacy Montoya; six grandchildren, Anthony, Leandra, AJ, Matthew, Michael Montoya, and Christopher Martinez; two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Christopher Aragon. Manuel will be greatly missed by his loveable companion of 15 years, Julie Martinez and her family. Manuel Montoya a loving father, brother, son and friend to many will be missed by all those who loved him dearly. A Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Albuquerque, 4020 Lomas NE, on Friday, August 17, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. A viewing will precede the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Jemez, NM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will precede the Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Special appreciation to the pallbearers, Christy Padilla, Dicky Chavez, Eric Martinez, Jr Zamora, Ruben Moore, Mark Garcia, Albert Placencio, Ralph Arias, and Eddie Jimenez. A reception will then take place at the Jemez Community Center. All food donations can be taken to the Community Center.
