Tomasita "Tommie" Gonzales, age 95, of Albuquerque, went home Saturday, August 4, 2007. She was born in Albuquerque to Roman and Beatriz Sena on April 8, 1912. Tomasita grew up in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque in a loving and caring family. She married the love of her life, Tomas Gonzales, who preceded her in death in 1982. They owned and operated Gonzales Plumbing and Heating business for many years. Tomasita, the eldest of eight children, was a mentor and the very foundation of the family. She provided unconditional help and support to her siblings and friends alike. Tomasita was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her children, Robert Gonzales and Eleanor his wife; Jeanette Whitehead and Robert her husband; grandchildren, Tom, Gerritt, Cindy and Brenda; great-grandchildren, Daniella, Christina, Lachlan, Anita, Ben, Dallas, Amanda, and Alexandria; sisters, Esther Griego and Dolores Gamboa. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St. NW, and will celebrate her life with a Rosary service beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at 9:00 a.m., also at the church.
