Dorothy Roehr, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007. Third of three children, born June 5, 1927 to Bertha and Paul Roehr, in Dallas, TX, Dorothy was a life long RN and animal lover, a kind and gentle spirit. She held a Nursing degree from TCU and a Masters degree from SMU, Dallas, was very well read and had many friends. She was honored as Nurse of the Year in the State of Texas at one time. She taught nursing and operating room procedure at Baylor University Hospital, and worked for Planned Parenthood during her Dallas years. Dorothy was preceded in death by sister, Bertha and brother, Paul. She is survived by step-sister ,Sarah Heed of Tuscon, AZ, and her family; niece, Daphne Hatcher; nephew, Paul Roehr, of TX; and their families. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 2nd, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque (on Carlisle at Comanche) to honor her life. Your presence and your reminiscences of Dorothy would be greatly appreciated at this service. Dorothy was very fond of cats and held a special place in her heart for all animals and for their humane treatment.
