James M. Higgs, 77, a resident of Truth or Consequences, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2007. He is survived by his son, James G. Higgs of Prescott, AZ; daughter, Sharon Gideon of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Shawn Timberlake of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Stephen Bogue, Daniel Bogue and wife, Amanda, Matthew Gideon and wife, Billie Jean, Logan Timberlake and Genevieve Timberlake; and great-grandchildren; Kristin Gideon and Shelby Gideon,all of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by a son, Darrel Lander and a daughter, Cynthia Higgs. James served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Most recently he had spent his time working with the Foster Grandparents program in Truth or Consequences where he was known as Grampa Jim to everyone. A visitation is planned for July 31, 2007 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Riverside Funeral Home located at 225 San Mateo NE in Albuquerque. A Committal Ceremony will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2007.
