Jean Reed (Anderson) Van De Car passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Viola Reed, and her brother, Bill Reed. She is survived by three sons, Jerry M. Anderson and Jeffrey R. Anderson of Albuquerque and James L. Anderson of Austin, TX; one grandson, James B. Anderson of Austin, TX. Jean was born in Albuquerque June 30, 1926. She was a graduate of Albuquerque High School. She spent many years living in Hawaii and in Okinawa, but she returned to Albuquerque after the death of her husband, Howard Van De Car. Jean never knew a stranger. She was a gracious hostess who made everyone who came into her home feel like a member of the family. She loved travel, books, dogs and children, and her pleasure in these things was contagious. Jean will be greatly missed by the many people who loved her. Services will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel.
