Clifton "Cliff" A. Reed, born July 22, 1925 in Fort Cobb, OK, passed away on July 12, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his wife, Jean Salas Reed; daughters, Sondra Reed and her companion, Tony Clarke, Cindy Reed and her husband, Gary Smith; son, Clint Reed and his wife, Rosina; godson, William Provance; grandsons, Adam, Ira and Luke Stockton and Donny and Jacob Brown; great-grandchildren, A.J., Sierra, Brianna, Steven, Rudy, and Nevaeh Stockton, Raylee Gurule, Sebastian and Madison Brown; sister, Janet Reed; mother-in-law, Cora Salas; and all of his other in-laws; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Eva Reed; son, Gregory Reed; and brother, Wally Reed. Cliff grew up in Ute Park, NM. He attended New Mexico State University and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. He was a member of Phi Kappa Alpha. He volunteered for service with the Navy Air Corp when he graduated from Oklahoma High School at the age 17. His career was in banking at several banks, the Albuquerque National Bank, the Raton Bank and the Citizens Bank in Farmington, NM. Cliff finished his career in Santa Fe, NM where he worked for the Taxation and Revenue Dept. He loved to fish, golf, camp, dance, travel, swim, ski, ice skate, garden and loved to entertain his extended family and many friends. The loves of his life were his wife, Jean, whom he called "my beauty", his children, Sondie, Clint, Cindy, and Gregory and his doggie whom he called "Shorty Pants". He was a member of the Elks club and the American Legion Post 14. He was a true gentleman, a great husband, father, grandfather, in-law, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed. "GOOD NIGHT, SWEET PRINCE, AND FLIGHTS OF ANGELS SING THEE TO THY REST.." Services will take place on Monday, July 16, 2007 at French Mortuary -Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course NW, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Adam Stockton, Ira Stockton, Luke Stockton, Donny Brown, Jacob Brown, and William Provance. The Family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Heritage Hospice, especially to his nurse, Pam Mares, and his CNA, Christine Montoya. They truly are angels of mercy! In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the AHCC Foundation/Cliff Reed Memorial Student Scholarship Fund and mailed or taken to the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, 1309 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
