Obituary for QUINTANA

Dennis V. Quintana, 59, passed away in Bernalillo, July 12, 2007. He was born July 2, 1948 in Cuervo, NM to Charlie and Erlinda Quintana, who preceded him in death in 1992. Mr. Quintana proudly served his country during the Vietnam War where he was a recipient of three Purple Hearts with one Gold Star. He was a Life Member of the Marine Corps League; Military Order of the Purple Heart; Disabled American Veterans, and Veterans of Foreign Wars - Rio Rancho Post 5890 and Albuquerque Post 401. He was also a member of The American Legion Post 118; AFSCME - New Mexico Retiree Chapter 18; KNME TV 5/DT 35; AARP, and a Supporter of Help Hospitalized Veterans. He is survived by his loving wife, Yolanda Quintana; son, Dennis E. Quintana, Jr.; grandchildren, Ida Nicole, Dennis Matthew and Roderick Isiah; brothers and sisters, Terry Urioste, Dolores and husband, Ramon Tapia, Alex Quintana, Leroy and wife, Betty Quintana, Yolanda and husband, Steve Chavez, and Robert Quintana, and also their beloved family dog "Snowball". Visitation will be held on Monday, July 16, 2007 from 9:00 to 12 noon at 2400 Southern Blvd. SE, Rio Rancho. Funeral Services will follow at 12 noon, followed by interment at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. The Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dennis Matthew Quintana and Roderick Isiah Quintana; childhood friends, Nick Romero, Tomas Sisneros, and Victor Anaya, and a friend from the Veteran Center, Blas Falcon.
