Obituary for ATKINSON

Neta Atkinson, age 84, of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, July 13, 2007 after a battle with cancer. She retired in 1992 after a successful career with the Federal Government. Over the years, she lived and traveled in many places around the world. She was a founding member of the Coppell Cut-ups line dance performing company in Coppell, TX. She was well known by all as the "family historian". She was a sophisticated lady with presence and warmth, who lived by a very strong set of principles. Neta is survived by two daughters, Glenda Atkinson and Shirley Atkinson, both of Albuquerque; sister, Maxine Moroney of Pueblo, CO; nieces and nephews, Phil and Elizabeth, Gary and Dee, Kim and Matt and their families, all of Pueblo, CO; Dick and Jane and family of Aurora, KS; cousins, Hazel, Baker, Julie, Rosalind, Mike, and their families, all of Albuquerque; Tom and family of Aurora, CO and Wilma and family of Blackwell, OK. There will be no local services. Her cremated remains will be enniched in Roselawn Cemetery in Pueblo, CO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Cancer Association, 1988 Momentum Place, Chicago, IL 60689-5319, or the charity of your choice.
