Ponciano Barela, 85, went to meet his maker on July 8, 2007. Mr. Barela was a member of the United States Army during World War II. He was also retired from Sandia National Laboratories. Mr. Barela is survived by his children, Andy Barela and wife, Esther, Michael Barela and wife, Kathleen, and Cordelia Mora and husband, Sonny; his loving lady, Mary A. Lucero; eight adopted grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A Rosary for Mr. Barela will be recited on Wednesday evening, July 11, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt.
