Jessie Shumpert Jr., beloved husband and father, 72, passed away on July 4, 2007. Mr. Shumpert was born in 1935 in Plantersville, MS. He served in the United States Air Force for 22 years and was employed at the VA Hospital for 20 years. While in the Air Force he received the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Leadership Service Award. He is survived by his wife, Earnestine; children, LTC Anthony Shumpert, NMARNG, and wife, Emilia, of Albuquerque, NM, Michael Shumpert of Albuquerque, Lisa Shumpert- Brisco and husband, Darryl, of Allen, TX, and MSG Kenneth Shumpert, NMARNG, and wife, Karen, of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Nena Najera, Rashida Robinson, Taylor Brisco, Jessie Shumpert III, and Samantha Shumpert; and great-grandchildren, Bobby Miller and Raquel Najera. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, with a Memorial Service at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p. m.
