Ron J. Castillo (Two Hats), a resident of Las Maravillas, Los Lunas, NM, age 65, went to join the Lord on July 4, 2007. He was the most loving and dearest husband of Arlene (Karla), most devoted and loving father of Librado, Andreanna, and Michael and wife, Saya. He loved and adored his grandchildren, Taylor, Kaitlin, and Jacob. He also loved his brother, Charles and sister-in-law, Lois Castillo, Iva Castillo and is still survived by sister, Linda. He was preceded in death by brother, Jerry and niece, Lena and parents, Julian and Frances Castillo. Ron was very devoted to his friends and a member of First Baptist Church in Belen. He was well known all over the country. He served in the U.S. Army in 1961. He was an owner-operator for Bekins Van Lines and United Van Lines for 30 years doing trade shows. After he retired in 2004, he worked for Home Depot in Los Lunas until he became seriously ill with lung cancer. He fought a hard battle for two years with radiation and chemotherapy and with much support and love from the New Mexico Cancer Center, and also much support from Lovelace Hospital, and The Heights of Laurel Meadows who tried so desperately to help Ron thru all of this. He and his wife thank everyone for all their love and prayers and support from everyone they know. Ron was very courageous and had much strength no matter how ill or how much pain he endured. He always reassured everyone that every step of the way was worth it. "A Better Place". A Memorial Rosary will be on Monday, July 9, 2007, 7:00 p.m., French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd Chapel.
