June Newsom, entered the gates of heaven on Monday, July 2, 2007 at the age of 85. She was born in Beaumont, TX to Charlie and Doris Hall. June was a beloved and precious mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. June had a kind and gentle heart and was devoted to her Catholic faith. She is survived by her daughters, Sybil Sowell and her late husband, Dick and Linda Alikhani and husband, Naser; two grandchildren, David Sowell and Denesa Shaw; three great-grandchildren, Courtney and Quinlyn Sowell and Briana Shaw; and many other family members. Her family would like to thank the staff of Manzano del Sol to whom they are eternally grateful for the loving care given to their Mom "June bug". The family would also like to extend their deep appreciation to the staff of Presbyterian Hospice and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church for their tireless visits. Rosary will be recited Thursday, July 5, 2007, 9:30 a.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with entombment to follow.
