Alcide "Al" Santilli, long-time resident of Albuquerque, passed away June 23, 2007. Al was ninety-three years of age and had been a licensed glider pilot since 1932. The two great loves in his life were his wife Lois Lee, who predeceased him, and flying gliders with his flying club from their base at Moriarty, which he did, well into the ninety-second year of his life. Al was a graduate of Brown University and Harvard. After serving in World War II, he was stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base and involved in the Atomic Bomb program. A Memorial Service remembering Al will be held at the First Baptist Church, 101 Broadway NE, on Monday, July 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by Getz Funeral Home corner of Solano and Bowman Ave., Las Cruces, NM 505-526-2419.
