Vicente P. "Chente" Ramirez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was born June 19, 1934. He left this world to be with our Lord, on Wednesday, June 20, 2007, surrounded by his family. Vicente was born in San Cristobal, GTO and he was raised in Cuidad Juarez Chihuahua where upon completion of college in 1953, he became an elementary school teacher. In 1958 he migrated to the United States, where he met and married Estefannita Hern of Anton Chico, NM. Vicente worked for National Sales in Albuquerque for 35 yrs, as a Welder and Foreman. He loved deer hunting, was very creative, and in his later years he made arts and crafts for everyone he loved. Vicente enjoyed working on his yard, reading and was very curious by nature. He was a UFO buff, as well. Vicente also enjoyed attending the sporting events of his grandchildren. His greatest joy in life was spending time with them. Mr. Ramirez was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Estefannita H. "Fannie" Ramirez; his mother, Antonia Ramirez; his father, Antonio Ramirez; his brothers, Jose "Luis" Ramirez, Anthony "Tony" Ramirez; and his sister, Maria Ramirez. Vicente is survived by his children, Geraldine and husband, Darryl Farrington, Anna Ramirez, Vincent Jr. and wife, Judy Ramirez, Mark and wife, Yvette Ramirez; his sister, Alicia and husband, Javier Villegas; ten grandchildren; one great- grandchild; various nieces and nephews; his best friend of 49 years, Antonio "Tony" Garcia; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Our sincerest heartfelt thanks to the staff of Sol Amor Hospice, Dr. Anita Holtz and Vickie Lugo for the loving way they cared for our Dad. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at Saint Frances Xavier Catholic Church, 820 Broadway SE, on Saturday morning, June 30, 2007. A Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment of his ashes will then take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Paseo del Norte and Wyoming NE.
