Paul Ernest Gomez was born December 2, 1929 in Santa Rita, NM. A longtime resident of Albuquerque, Paul passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Gomez and Margaret Gomez and he is survived by his loving friend and the mother of his children, Ramona Martinez; his four children, daughter, Frances Gomez and husband, Mike; daughter, Christina Gomez; son, Paul T. Gomez and wife, Lynn and daughter, Barbara Gomez; 11 grandchildren, Michael Gomez, Paul James Gomez, Raquel Gomez, Elizabeth Gomez, Dominic Martinez, Bernadette Johnson, Tito Gomez, Timothy Gomez, Michelle Gomez, Francesca Tarango and Nicole Lynn Jardine; 22 great-grandchildren; his loving sister and best friend, Genevieve Salaz and husband, Eloy of Gallup; his little sister, Lillian Mendoza and husband, Harry of Gallup; his precious nieces and nephews and his loving friends that loved and will miss him. Memorial Services will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. in Rio Rancho, on Tuesday, June 19, 2007. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow immediately in the Parish Hall. Burial will then take place, also on Tuesday, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM, at 3:00 p.m., with U.S. Marine Corps Honors. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW.
