Obituary for SEDILLO

Diego R. Sedillo, born March 3, 1915 in Monticello, NM, died joyfully in his home surrounded by his family, June 1, 2007 after patiently enduring illness. His love was God, his family and his work. His career included U.S. Department of Agriculture, inspector in Mexico, Civil Service Aircraft Instructor, Spanish teacher in Grants, NM; Alcohol Rehabilitation Therapist; Elementary School Nurse at Eugene Elementary where the kids called him "doctor"; Real Estate Entrepreneur, providing affordable housing for those in need. He is the author of the story of his grandfather, Roque Ramos, "Sufferance of an Indian Captive". He lives in our hearts as a wise and loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and kind gentle heart to all. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 28 years, Rosa Sedillo; parents, Evangelisto and Domitilia Sedillo; brothers, Herman, Anselmo, Justiniano, Roque; son, Armando Sedillo; and son-in-law, James A. Burrious. He is survived by his children: Myrna B. Fraker and husband, Steven, Norman Sedillo and wife, Clara, Michael Sedillo and wife, Donna, and James and wife, Silvia Sedillo; daughter-in-law, Marta Sedillo; his grandchildren: Enrique Burrious, Olivia Burrious, Juan Sedillo and wife, Elise, Paul Sedillo, Monica Sedillo, Sonja Sedillo, Julianne Sedillo, Thomas Sedillo, Amber Sedillo, Estevan Sedillo, and Alex Fish and wife, Martina; his siblings, Gavino Sedillo, Felix Sedillo, and Alfides Sedillo; along with many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all. Visitations will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at St, Francis Xavier Catholic Church located at 820 Broadway SE. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Enrique Burrious, Alex Fish, Juan Sedillo, Paul Sedillo, Thomas Sedillo, and Orlando Sedillo.
