Obituary for ALBERS

Gordon D. Albers, age 86, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. A son of Martin Z. and Jennie Nyhuis Albers, he was born May 20, 1921 in Des Moines, IA. Gordon attended Hope College in Michigan and was a veteran of the Air Force during WWII where he served in the India-China-Burma Theatre. He worked for over five years as an FBI Agent as well as various marketing and sales positions. While living in New Mexico and West Virginia he volunteered at the states Welcome Centers. Gordon was a member of the F&AM and the Church of the Latter Day Saints. He is the last surviving member of his family. He is survived by three children: Daniel Albers of Berkley, CA., Prisca Maier and husband Christoph of Indiana, Louisa Jane Settles of Stillwater, OK.; fifteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 44 years Elizabeth Pew Albers; first wife and the mother of his children, Ethel Mae Olson Albers Dunlap; two brothers: Gilbert and Millard Albers; a sister, Sylvia Swope; an infant brother; and a son-in-law, Ronald E. Settles A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc. in Indiana under the direction of Kenneth R. Noel President of the Indian Branch of the LDS Church.
