Ramona Cecilia Lucero "Little Grandma", beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, entered eternal life on May 19, 2007. She was born in Dilia, NM on January 4, 1920. A resident of Albuquerque since 1959, she was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Little Grandma will be greatly missed by eight sons and daughters, 39 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. She was known for her generous hospitality and wonderful cooking. She leaves a legacy of charity to those she touched. She opened our hearts and taught us to accept others as they are. We will forever cherish the memories of the good times we had with her. Ramona was an amazing woman with a huge heart. She loved everyone who came into her life unconditionally and she touched them with her understanding and caring. She is now in the arms of God's angels. We are truly blessed to have had her in our lives. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Reymundo A. Lucero, children Eloy, Florentino, and John; grandchildren, Mark Velasquez, Ivan Lujan, and Paul Sanchez Sr.; sisters, Angie, Evelyn, and Carmen; brother, Tony, and daughter-in-law, Loretta Lucero. She is survived by her brother, Ernest Martinez whom she raised, and his wife, Marylou of Pueblo, CO; daughters, Virginia Vigil, Patsy Sanchez, Roselee Barela, Lillian Aragon, and husband, Arthur of Albuquerque; daughter, Beatrice Velasquez and husband, Cayetano of Denver, CO; and sons, Jose Lucero and Alfred Lucero and wife, Mary of Albuquerque and Joe Lucero of Denver, CO. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Barela, Shawn Sanchez, Mark Martinez, Morris Lucero, Roman Lujan, and J.R. Lucero. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Barela, Gerald Aragon, Alonzo Soto, and Paul Sanchez, Jr. The Rosary will be recited Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 6:00 p.m., at French Mortuary Westside Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 550 Atrisco Dr. SW, with interment to follow At Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
