Joseph L. Wingert, age 92, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on July 7, 1914 to Joseph and Sadie Wingert in Paelo, KS. Joseph spent his career serving his nation in the United States Air Force. He served in WWII and Korea, in various locations around the world. After retirement from the Air Force, Joseph became an agent for The Indian Health Service as an accountant. He was known affectionately as "Mr. Joe", his neighbors knew him as a kind, loving and helpful neighbor, always ready to do whatever was needed in the neighborhood. Joseph is survived by his sister, Betty Amman of Flint, MI; step-daughter, Mae Macomber and husband, Paul of Brevard, NC; and Mae's children, Donna Banghart and husband, Ralph of Washington, NJ and Eric Hineline of Phoenix, AZ; three step-grandchildren, Kim and David Platko of Dallas, TX and Mark Platko of New York; sister-in-law, Juanita Mouchett and husband, Clyde of Midwest City, OK and their daughter, Sarah Cook and husband, Dennis and their son, Jesse Cook of Edmond, OK. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Bessie Mae Wingert, and step-daughter, Gwen Platko and her husband, Paul and step-great-grandson, Joey Hineline. Cremation has taken place.
