Obituary for ROWE

Joseph Richard Rowe, 74, born in Albuquerque in 1933, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007 peacefully in his sleep. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lorraine Rowe; two sons, Michael Rowe and wife Darlene and Stephen Rowe; daughter, Leilani Graston and husband, Joe; two grandchildren, Lazarus and Sarah; and brother, Robert Rowe and wife, Beverly. Mr. Rowe was preceded in death by his father, Louis B. Rowe and his mother, Alice Larrazolo Rowe who was the great-granddaughter of Octavian Larrazolo, governor of New Mexico in the 1920s. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He later met and married Lorraine and he worked as an x-ray technician at several hospitals in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Mr. Rowe worked for Zanio's Foods for several years before retiring in 1995. He enjoyed the outdoors especially camping with his wife. Mr. Rowe was a member of the Elk's club and a very active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Sunday, May 20, 2007, 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service following at 6:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 21, 2007, 9:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos NW.
