Obituary for GRIFFIN

Edna Griffin, 87, resident of Albuquerque passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 from complications of several illnesses. Mrs. Griffin was born in Paducah, KY daughter of Chester Field and Mary Bumpous Peyton. Her husband, Ralph Griffin, preceded her in death in 1984. Edna is survived by her daughter, Shirley Sparks and her husband, LeRoy, of Rio Rancho; twin sons, Ronald Griffin and wife, Kay, of Salmon, ID; and Donald Griffin and wife, Jean, of Pasco, WA; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Vickers and husband, Kevin, of Ft. Worth, TX; Randall Sparks, Albuquerque; Cheri Ascoli and husband, Lou, of Mukilteo, WA; Debbie Ruppert, Walla Walla, WA; Melinda Ernsdorf and husband, Don, of Auburn, WA; Michael Griffin, Corvallis, MT; Angela Baker, Ft. Bevloir, VA; and Christina Griffin, Port Townsend, WA. Edna is also survived by 19 great grandchildren, two sisters Margie Overstreet and Sue Bollinger of Paducah, KY; one brother, Rolf Boyd Peyton, of Hiram GA; another brother, Lindy Peyton preceded her in death in 1968. Special thanks to Care Free Living's nurses and staff for their excellent care of Edna during her long illness. Per Edna's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services. Edna has donated her body to the University of New Mexico Medical School with the hope of contributing to the education of future doctors and nurses. Any memorials may be made to charity of your choice. She will be greatly missed.
