Meliton Nolasco, age 102, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 10, 2007, while surround by his loving family. Meliton was born in Pajarito, NM to the late Sisto and Maria Nolasco and raised in Martineztown. He was a resident of Alameda, and a member of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed farming, planting and caring for his "home grown" vegetables, and sharing those vegetables with those he knew. He retired from the Rail Road after 47 years of service as a Blacksmith. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Albina Maria Nolasco; a daughter, Flora (Baba) Nolasco; a granddaughter, Renee Ingrim; a son-in-law, Andrew Santillanes; two brothers; and three sisters. Meliton is survived by his loving children, Rudy Nolasco and wife, Ramona, Dorothy Santillanes, Rose Paez and husband, Reynaldo, Meliton Nolasco Jr. and wife, Rosemarie, Florencio Nolasco and wife, Almira, Bill Nolasco and wife, Diane, and Elisa Nolasco; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Meliton will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched. Visitations will be held today (Thursday) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rudy Nolasco Jr., Joe Paez, Greg Nolasco, Samuel Nolasco, Randy Nolasco, Timothy Paez, Joseph Sandoval, and Meliton Nolasco III. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Gentiva Health Services; Registered Nurse, Debbie Nata; Home Health Aide, Rae Robinson, for the wonderful care given to our father.
