Roy Junior Gardner, 83, a resident of Rio Rancho for over 30 years, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2007. Roy was born August 6, 1923 in Trenton, Missouri. Roy always had a joke to tell. He enjoyed square dancing and fishing. Roy was a WWII veteran of the United States Navy, and retired in 1978 from a 30 year career in Civil Service. Roy is survived by his wife, Jenny Gardner; children, Theresa Canaday and husband Jim of Choctaw, OK, Mike Gardner of Colorado Springs, CO, step-sons, Phillip Bellanco and wife Susan of Yorktown Heights, NY, and Michael Fichera of Rio Rancho, NM; four step-grandchildren, Christopher and Janae Fichera, Michael Bellanco and Kim Colaciappo; and one step-great grandchild, Francesca Bellanco. Visitation was held Wednesday, April 11, 2007 with the Rosary in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services Chapel at Vista Verde, 4310 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated today, Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho, NM.
