Obituary for SKOUSEN

Jane Vinson Skousen, passed away after a brief battle with lung cancer on Saturday, with her family at her bedside. She was a loving wife to Daniel, mother to Daniel D. (III), Syndi, Kevin, and Kelly, and nana to Whitney, Eric, Dane, Haley Jane, and Brody. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara, and niece, Barbara Jane Kramer, daughter-in-law, Sukey Skousen, and son-in-law, Seth Steer. Her parents, Clarence and Pauline Vinson, preceded her in death. Jane was born in Conroe, TX, on August 20, 1936, she attended elementary and secondary schools in Hobbs, NM, and attended UNM where she was a Kappa Kappa Gamma. Jane later worked at Sandia Base (now Kirtland Air Force Base). Married to Daniel D. Skousen, Jr. for 42 years, the couple was a mainstay in the Four Hills neighborhood and country club, as well as the road construction business. She was a loving homemaker, a gracious hostess, and an avid reader. Jane spent many hours on the tennis court at the club with good friends. Janey's love was infectious. She sends her love to you all and we know you'll miss her. All friends are invited to her life celebration at Four Hills Country Club on Friday, April 13, 2007, from 5 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Albuquerque Parks and Recreation, Jane Skousen Memorial Fund, 156 Juan Tabo NE, Albuquerque, NM 87123.
