Obituary for MEYER

Ralph P. Meyer, 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1971, passed away Friday, April 6, 2007. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Meyer-Jacks and husband, Jack of Albuquerque; sons, Robert Meyer of Chicago, IL, Steven Meyer and wife, Sheryl of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Aidan and Connor Meyer-Jacks, Emily and Kate Meyer; sisters, Virginia Marzen and husband, Max of New Albin, IA, Karen Adams and husband, Tom of La Crosse, WI. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Gaul Meyer in 1996 and his parents, Irvin and Claudia Meyer. He was raised on a farm near New Albin, IA. Following graduation from Loras College, Ralph spent numerous years working in Catholic parishes and schools for the Archdiocese of Dubuque, IA. In 1971, he began serving as an assistant principal at St. Pius X High School in Albuquerque. In 1972, he and Laura married and lovingly raised their family. Ralph enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and traveling both here and abroad - often seeing a Chicago Cubs game along the way. Ralph was devoted to his family and his Catholic faith and will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives he has touched. Prayer Services will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2007, 6:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, April 12, 2007, 3:30 p.m., at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande 5901 Saint Josephs Drive NW, with Father Lambert J. Luna, Celebrant. The Committal service will be Friday, April 13, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Westside Chapel, Wednesday, 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius X High School Scholarship Fund, 5301 St. Josephs Drive, NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87120.
