Reba F. Wiggins, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2007. She is survived by her loving children, Gilbert Wiggins and wife, Karen of Albuquerque, Brenda Bolton and husband, Christopher of Duncan, SC, Rhonda Townes and husband, Andrew of Albuquerque; and her seven grandchildren, DeeLynn and Drew Townes, CJ, Jesse, and Cody Bolton, and Chris and Ashley Martinez; niece, Judy Sutton of Clyde, NC; nephew, Kenny Cole of Franklin, NC; and many other nieces and nephews and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Straub and Amy Thomas; and two sisters, Helen Calhoun and Mildred Cole. Reba was born on April 10, 1931 in Bryson City, NC. She spent her childhood and graduated from high school in Bryson City. Reba met and married Jim Wiggins in 1953 and moved to Albuquerque at the age of 20. She lived her life in Albuquerque which included raising her three children. Reba started her career working in the offices of Dr. Kinny and Dr. Wollison. She went on to work as a volunteer nurse at Casa Linda School for the mentally handicapped . Reba spent many years working with these children. She later became one of the first female bailiffs in the State of New Mexico, District Court for Judge Richard Blackhurst. Reba retired while working for Judge Richard Knowles. The family wishes to express a special "thank you" to all the caregivers at Casa de La Reina Assisted Living and all her friends at Reina house. Services will be held Friday, March 23, 2007, 11:00 a.m., at Asbury United Methodist Church, 10000 Candelaria NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
