Obituary for RUPERT

Oran H. "Rupe" Rupert (Lt. Col. USA Retired), age 92, a resident of Albuquerque for 46 years, died on Friday, February 23, 2007 following an illness. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Bricker Rupert of Albuquerque; one son, Michael P. Rupert of Charlotte, NC; one step-son, Terry Bricker and his wife, Joy of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; one sister, Myrna Scruton and her husband, David of Golden, CO; two brothers-in-law, George Billinghurst and his wife, Louise of Scarsdale, NY, and Gordon Linton and his wife, Nancy of Port Dover, Ontario, Canada. Rupe was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Billinghurst Rupert. After retiring with 27 years of military service, he was employed by the University of New Mexico and the Corps of Engineers. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery (501 N. Guadalupe, Santa Fe, NM) with Dr. Roy Elmore of St. Paul's United Methodist Church officiating. Following the Memorial Service, a reception will be held at La Vida Llena, 10501 Lagrima De Oro NE, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the O. Rupert memorial fund, St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 9500 Constitution NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112.
