Leola Ver Wey, 84, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. Leola lived in Albuquerque over 45 years. Born in Vernon, IL, November 12, 1922. She is survived by her five children, Mary Lynn Farnham and husband, Bruce of Colorado Springs, CO, Deborah Ann Morgan, Twilla Sheree Harter and husband, Greg of Denver, CO, Glenn Leroy Ver Wey and wife, Marina of Coos Bay, OR, and Robert Wayne Ver Wey and wife, Linda of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Roberta Summerville; and her brother, Robert Arnold; her dear friend, Max Moreno; and many others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Frances Arnold; and her daughter, Carol Lee Ver Wey. Leola played the trombone in her high school marching band and loved watching and listening to all bands. She also had a passion for sports, and was co-founder and active member of the UNM Lobo Women's Boosters in the 1960s and '70s. Memorial Service will be held Monday March 19, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. at Aspen Funeral Home, 1935 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE.
