Jeronimo A. Rivera Sr., 84, born in Corrumpa, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on March 16, 2007 with his loving family by his side. Mr. Rivera is the beloved husband to Mrs. Dora Rivera, married for 60 years. Mr. Rivera is also survived by his loving children, Beatrice Cunningham, Sadie Tilman and husband, Bill, Jeronimo A. Rivera Jr. and wife, Rosie and Jo Ann Lucero and husband, Leroy; a son-in-law, Don Cunningham; one sister, Juanita Trujillo and husband, Gilbert; one brother, John Rivera; nine grandchildren, Greg and wife, Veronica, Lora and Alyssa Cunningham, James and wife, Amy, Thomas and David Sandoval, Elizabeth Rivera, Jason and Megan Lucero; five great-grandchildren, Candice, Jackie, Veronica, Lena and Marlon Cunningham and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Rivera was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Rivera. Mr. Rivera was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, in the 43rd Winged Victory Division on Luzon. Staff Sergeant Rivera was the recipient of the Silver Star, Bronze Star Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Presidential Unit Emblem, Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Service Star, Bronze Arrowhead, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Honorable Service Lapel Button, World War II and Army Lapel Button. Visitation for Mr. Rivera will be Tuesday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Service to be held at 1:00 p.m. A Committal Service will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors by the United States Army. Pallbearers will be Greg Cunningham, James Sandoval, Thomas Sandoval, David Sandoval, Jason Lucero and Michael Rivera.
