Obituary for SAMORA

Julia Trujillo Samora, passed away on March 4, 2007, at the age of 94. She was born in 1913 in the small village of La Puente in Upper Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, and resided in Tierra Amarilla until 1953, when the family moved to Albuquerque. She had been a resident of Laurel Heights Nursing Home for the past three years. Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Eugenio Samora, and one grandson, David Lopez. She is survived by her seven children, Elsie, Ike, Maria, Joe, Terrie, Vangie and Joseph, and respective spouses, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. Julia is also survived by one brother, Joe Trujillo, of California. Julia dedicated her life to her family and took great pride in her culinary skills. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for many years and once worked as a ceramics instructor at Wells Park Community Center, where she shared her creative talents with others. According to her wishes, a private service was held on March 8, 2007. Julia wanted to be remembered as the vibrant person that she was until her peaceful death.
