Obituary for CARBAJAL

Ray Carbajal, age 69, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away on March 4, 2007. He was a member of San Clemente Catholic Church and a past member and exalted ruler of the Belen Elks Lodge. A graduate of Belen High School, he attended Highlands University. Ray proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was retired from the Federal Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernardo and Emily Carbajal; his sister, Corrine Jaramillo; a grandson, Andy Carbajal; nephews, Richard (Dicky) Carbajal and Donnie Carbajal; in-laws, Reducindo and Alicia Cordova; and sister-in-law, Odelia Cordova. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Dora Carbajal; sons, Ray Jr. of Edgewood, NM, Andrew and Freddy of Los Chavez; step-children, Rupert Ortega and his wife, Yvette of Bosque Farms, Debbie Monceballez and her husband, John of Los Chavez; his brothers, Richard (Dick) and his wife, Lois of Albuquerque, and Barney and his wife, Jan of Sabinal, NM; grandchildren, Desirae Benavidez, Nichole Carbajal, Jennifer and Jenelle Ortega, and Jason and Melissa Monceballez; one great- grandchild, Jayda Benavidez; sister-in-law, Margie and her husband, Charlie Carrejo of Los Chavez; brothers-in-law, Pat Cordova and his wife, Myra of Albuquerque, Rudy Cordova and his wife, Mary Helen of Los Chavez, Eusebio Cordova and his wife, Anita of Los Chavez, and Toby Cordova and his wife, Mary Ann of Los Lunas; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Romero Funeral Home Chapel at 5:30 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at San Clemente Catholic Church at 9:30 with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with celebrant Father Doug Mitchell. Interment will take place following the Mass at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Ray Jr., Andrew and Freddy Carbajal, Rupert Ortega, John and Jason Monceballez.
