Obituary for STOLWORTHY

Jim "John" Boyd Stolworthy, age 72, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2007. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Ward 2, in Los Lunas. John was born in Kirtland, NM, on December 13, 1934, to Lula Lurene and Jesse Henry Stolworthy. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict in Company A, the 78th Engineering Battalion from 1950-1953. John worked in construction and logging, and retired as a professional truck driver. He also worked as a fuel transport driver for Flying J, until his illness 5 years ago. John was a kind and loving father, husband, and friend to all who knew him. He was a man of great personal integrity and faith and gave freely of his time, talent, and possessions, to all who asked of him. Jim will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jesse Knight, Robert Thomas, Henry Stanford, Lincoln, and Berel Lyman Stolworthy; sisters, Dalilah Ebert, Lydia Bard, and Opal Stolworthy; and his son, John Norman Stolworthy. John is survived by his wife, Josephine Stolworthy; children, Joseph Stolworthy and his wife, Liz Ann, Jess Stolworthy and his wife, Daryl Lynn, Lavone Bryce and her husband, Jim, and Elsie Minser and her husband, Scott; stepchildren, Steven Kalpin, Michael Kalpin and his wife, Pam, Cindy Frenchers, and Lisa Tomlin and her husband, Howard; brothers, Carr, Raymond and Larry; sister, Carley Calzada; 16 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Los Lunas, on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at the Hermosa Cemetery in Durango, CO, on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Joe and Jess Stolworthy, Steve and Michael Kalpin, Scot Minser, and Jim Bryce.
