Obituary for DERUYVER

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday March 02, 2007

VIOLET FAYE ELLIS Violet was born November 21, 1911 in Roswell, NM to E.J. and Bertha Ellis. She died May 15, 2006 in Rohnert Park, CA. Violet was a long-time resident of Albuquerque where she raised her son, Ray and cared for her mother, Bertha. In retirement she moved to northern California where she cared for her brother, Earl and sister, Clara in their final years. Vi is survived by her beloved son, Ray Dunaway and wife, JoAnn, precious granddaughter, Celeste Cordon and husband, Ricardo Cordon; and adored great-grandchildren, Antonio Cordon and Brittaney Cordon. Vi lived a life of independence, with careers in hair styling, real estate sales and management, and other sales. She believed that walls were meant to be moved, that a woman was usually the "right man" for the job, that there was always a problem you could solve if you tried hard enough, that a person should never stop learning, and that you can never be too busy for family. She also believed in continual self improvement, of herself and of others. A Memorial Service and interment will be held at Fairview Memorial Gardens in the Columbarium, 700 Yale Blvd. SE, on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. For information call Ray at 415.990.0091. The family suggests memorials to your local hospice.
