Arthur "Arturo" M. Ramirez, age 90, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 22, 2007. He honorably served his country in the US Army. He loved to play jazz music and he was also a music teacher for most of his life. His close friends knew him as "Goofy." He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carlotta, sister, Virgie Thies, children, Laura C de Baca and husband Pat, Maldo Ramirez and wife Toni, Ruby Herrera and husband Joe, Ruth Lucero, Joey Ramirez, Charles Ramirez, daughter-in-law, Mariana Ramirez wife of Abe Ramirez who preceded him in death. Arthur will also be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Both services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW. A Rosary will be recited on Monday February 26, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday February 27, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St, NW (505) 343-8008
