Rita Mae Chino was born February 14, 1929 in Detroit, MI and left this world peacefully on January 31, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. She was a resident for many years in Mescalero, NM, and more recently in Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, former President Wendell Sam Chino of Mescalero, NM, the love of her life. She is survived by her three children: Marina Claycomb of Cortez, CO, Laney Kidd of Albuquerque, NM, Michael Cortez of Hot Springs, AR, and extended family. Rita loved to dance, knew and could sing a song about any topic, was more than generous to those close to her, and passionate about her projects and causes. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
