William "Willie" A. Welter, age 90, of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2007, at Ladera Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after a long illness. Willie retired from Dictaphone Corporation in Bridgeport, CT after 35 years of service. In 1991, he and his wife, Sally, moved to Albuquerque. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army-Air Force and a longtime member of the American Legion, both here and in Connecticut. Willie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sally; brother, John Welter of Bridgeport, CT; niece, Wendy Dever and husband, Thomas; nephews, Lewis Welter, Warren Welter and wife, Beverly, Glen Balamaci; mother-in-law, Jane Timko; sister-in-law, Joan Balamaci. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. A Memorial Service will take place Friday, February 2, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary Westside Chapel with a Committal Service at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
