John W. Wood, 79, born in Mexico, MO to the late Ed and Mary Wood. John has lived in Albuquerque since 1948. John passed away peacefully at home on January 28, 2007 with his loving family by his side and is now in Heaven with our Lord. John is the beloved husband to Dorothy Wood, married for 55 years. John is also survived by his sons, John Eric, Gary and wife, Kelly, Donald, Mark, Dr. Bryan and wife, Kristen of Alexandria, VA; his daughters, Linda Block and husband, Joel, Nancy Nuzzo and husband, Sam; one brother, Eddie Wood and wife, Helen from Missouri; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Armijo and husband, Joe and Connie Buckner; brother-in-law, Charlie Vau and wife, Betty from Oregon. Grandchildren, Dorothy Montoya and husband, Chad, A.J. Wood, Johnathan Gibbs, Gus Dumais, Marissa Wood, Markie Wood, Marlayna Wood, Kristen Wood, Anna Marie Nuzzo, Jack Wood, Luke Wood, Alec Wood, Codi Block, and Kelly Block; great-grandchildren, Anthony Leo and Ashley Montoya. John was a member of the Catholic Church. John retired from Sandia National Laboratories after 38 years of service and was a Veteran of the United States Army and the United States Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict. He served as a Boy Scout Leader for several years and helped start the West Mesa Little League, he was very involved with his children's activities. John loved to listen to jazz and to sing. John was a great man and will be truly missed by all. WE LOVE YOU !! Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 Plaza NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Susan Bostic. Final visitation will be Thursday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church with Communion Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. by Deacon Jose Lucero. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors by the U.S. Air Force. Pallbearers will be his sons, John Eric, Gary, Donald, Mark, Bryan, sons-in-law, Joel Block and Sam Nuzzo. Honorary pallbearers will be A.J. Wood, Johnathan Gibbs, Gus Dumais, Chad Montoya, Joe Armijo, and Charlie Vau. Arrangements by: Gabaldon Mortuary 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW 243-7861
