Barbara G. Spence, 90, of San Angelo, TX, passed away Friday, January 26, 2007 in a local skilled nursing facility of natural causes. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at French's Mortuary at 10500 Lomas N.E. in Albuquerque, NM, 87112 with Tom Salmon, officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2007 followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father Charles Greenwell officiating. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Barbara was born October 21, 1916 in Santa Rita, NM, to William Irvin and Gladys Nesbit Moore. She worked as a Civil Service Bookkeeper at Goodfellow AFB, and after her retirement, Barbara continued working as a realtor with her husband. She was a member of 3rd order of Carmelites. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward T. Spence; children, Barbara Ann Johnson, Alan Monkewicz, and Charles Monkewicz. She is survived by her sons, Victor Monkewicz of San Angelo, Terry Spence of Austin, Thomas Spence of San Angelo; one sister, Louise Stambaugh of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
