Lorene G. Ross, 92, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2007 in San Antonio, TX, after a long illness. She was born Lorene Gladys McMahan on September 24, 1914. Lorene is survived by her son, B. George Ross, wife, Teresa Ross of San Antonio, TX; granddaughter, Tami Ross of LaPlata, NM; sister, Geneva Gilchrist of El Paso, TX; nieces, Jackie Head, Nancy Smashey, Mackie Gilchrist, Barbara Rosa; and nephews, Frank and Grant Gilchrist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce G. Ross; sister, Eunice Head; and brother, Elias McMahan. Lorene married Bruce G. Ross in Oklahoma and moved to Albuquerque in 1946 where they lived and owned the Ross Cafe and the Lucky Boy Hamburgers. She retired to San Antonio in 1984 to be near her son and his family. Lorene was a long-time and active member of the Fifth and Marble Church of Christ, the Montgomery Church of Christ and the Lackland Terrace Church of Christ in San Antonio, TX. Lorene was a warm Christian worker and lent herself to any and all that needed her gifts. Her ideals will forever touch the hearts of family and friends and she will be missed by all.
