Marlys Miller Exon, 73, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Thursday, January 11, 2007, at Simple Pleasures Senior Care after an extended illness. The former Marlys Miller was born September 8, 1933, in Geneseo, IL, the daughter of Herbert and Mary (Haugh) Miller. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1951. On August 13, 1960, she married Dr. Guy R. Exon in Anaheim, CA. Marlys was an administrative secretary for Singer Business Machines from 1970-1976 and then for Digital Equipment Corporation from 1976 until she retired in 1985. She has since spent many years volunteering in several capacities. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 49, American Ex-Prisoners of War, the VFW Auxiliary 401, Adah Chapter No.5, OES, Daughters of the Nile, and was a regular volunteer at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque. She is a national officer of Eight and Forty, a subsidiary of the American Legion Auxiliary. Marlys was a members of the Faith Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. She loved volunteering and spending time with her many many friends. She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Mary Miller of Geneseo, IL; brother-in-law, L.R. "Butch" DeBlieck of Burlington, IA; and several nieces and nephews, who were very special to her. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and one sister, Margo DeBlieck who died on January 4, 2007. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE 843-6333
