Obituary for MEYER

Thomas O. "Tommy" Meyer, born September 8, 1919 in Wapakoneta, OH and a long time resident of Santa Fe and Albuquerque, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2007. Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary; son, Thomas Meyer and granddaughters, Katie and Martha of Middleton, WI; daughter, Anne Lindgren and husband, Kevin and grandsons, Kristopher and Justin of Albuquerque; son, Michael Meyer and wife, Denise, and granddaughter, Adrienne of Albuquerque; brother, William J. Meyer and wife, Sue; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" McDonald and husband, Lavon; sisters-in- law, Catherine Rowe and Denise Meyer; and by numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and -nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Don Meyer; and sisters, Mary Ellen Strosnider and Catherine Yoder. He was an employee of Sandia National Laboratories for 32 yeas and a graduate of The University of New Mexico Department of Civil Engineering. Tom was a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Phi, Alpha XI Chapter. He served our country during WWII, both in the Army Air Corps and in the United States Navy Seabees. Tom was a mentor to many and loved by us all. His priorities were to be of service to God, Country, Family and Friends. A Rosary will be recited at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Services will be held at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE on Friday, January 12, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of New Mexico Civil Engineering Scholarship Fund, UNM, Albuquerque, NM 87131 or to Presbyterian Health Care Foundation, P. O Box 26666, Albuquerque, NM 87125, for Presbyterian Kaseman Hospice Inpatient Unit. Tom's family wishes to express their thanks to nieces and nephews and friends of the family for their support in this time of need. We would like to thank all the staff members of Presbyterian Hospital and especially the staff of Presbyterian Hospice Care for their help in our time of need.
