Mildred "Millie" Holland Thomas died January 3, 2007 at her home in Albuquerque. She was 81. Mildred Frances Holland was born November 25, 1925 in Wichita Falls, TX and attended the University of Texas, Austin. She married William Love Thomas in 1948, and they resided in Albuquerque from 1959 to 1962, when they moved to Santa Fe. She taught at De Vargas Junior High School from 1972 to 1986. She was widowed in 1987, and returned to Albuquerque in 1995, where she continued her educational calling by volunteering at Wherry Elementary School. She was a trustee of Christ United Methodist Church, and served actively in many of its organizations. She is survived by two sons, Trent Thomas of Albuquerque and Britt Thomas of Baton Rouge, LA; three grandchildren ;and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday, January 6, 2007 at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd NE. The Funeral is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Sunday January 7, 2007 at Christ United Methodist Church, 6200 Gibson Blvd. SE. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m., Monday January 8, 2007 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
