Ione L. Slattery, 76, mother of eight children, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2006. She is survived by her husband, M.J. (Joe) Slattery; her daughters, Karen Slattery, Kathleen Nichols, and Lorna Shields; her sons, Kevin, Michael, Patrick, and Brian Slattery. She was preceded in death by son, Timothy Slattery, who passed away in 1985. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Ashlee Hicks, Shannan Shields, and Victoria Slattery. Incredibly independent and adventurous, she was an active member of the Canyon Nets basketball team until sidelined by illness in April 2006. Her ashes will be spread in the mountains of Colorado, one of her favorite places. There are no words that can express how much she will be missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to the Canyon Nets basketball team, or the charity of your choice.
