Placido L. Sanchez, Jr. 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1977, died Thursday, January 4, 2007. He his survived by his daughter, Marineta Relyea and husband, Frenchy; son, Joe; grandchildren, Kimberley, Bill, Jason and Brendan; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters Doie, Carmen Lou, Emily and Julietta, and numerous other relatives and friends. Placido was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carmen V. Sanchez on March 23, 2006. He was born on October 1, 1924 in Las Vegas, NM and served in the United States Army Air Corps as a tail gunner during WW II and survived as a POW for 18 months. A Memorial Rosary will be recited at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 4 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont Ave. NE on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VA Medical Center, in loving memory of Placido L.
