Sonia Mindlin Diefendorf, 85, died in her sleep Saturday, December 30, 2006, at the Montebello on Academy. Devoted to her family, she is survived by daughter Gail; and husband Don Devine of Calabasas, CA; son Jeffry Diefendorf and wife Barbara of Kittery, ME; granddaughter Shannon and husband Shawn Grassman, grandchildren Oliva and Jordon Grassman, of Alameda, CA. Raised in Los Angeles, Sonia came to Albuquerque to study at the University of New Mexico. She married Morris Diefendorf in 1942, mourning his death in 1997. Sonia was a member of Chi Omega at UNM, an active member of the Albuquerque Junior League, and a member of the Albuquerque Country Club. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Lovelace Hospice, c/o Lovelace Medical Center, 5400 Gibson Blvd, SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108, or the charity of your choice. A brief Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 4, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Private Burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
