Obituary for EHART

E. P. (Phil) Ehart, 81, an Albuquerque resident since 1992, passed away Friday, December 29, 2006. He will be missed by his wife, Linda Ehart of Albuquerque; daughter, Suzanne Bell and husband, Mike of Morgantown, WV; son, Adam Ehart and wife, Vera Lynn of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren Emma and Sam of Baltimore, MD. He was a loving husband and father. Mr. Ehart was a US Marine Corps veteran of WWII and served as a B-25 tail gunner. He flew night missions to interdict supplies around Iwo Jima, Saipan, and Okinawa. After WWII, he graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology with a degree in chemical engineering. He coached youth baseball and football in Los Alamos. He was a pilot and loved flying, football, baseball, archery, fencing and travel. He retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1989. Mr. Ehart will be remembered by his peers as a natural-born leader. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd Chapel.
