Robert E. Martin, 72, of Green Valley, AZ, died Monday, December 11, 2006. Mr. Martin was born in Denver, CO, attended high school in Los Alamos, NM, and graduated from The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. His career included positions as VP/General Manager of International Silver Company in Meriden, CT and VP/General Manager of Superior Cable Corporation in Brownwood, TX. While working in labor relations for ACF Industries in Lewisburg, PA, Mr. Martin was very active with Little League Baseball and Football, serving many years as coach and later as President of the baseball league. Mr. Martin served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War and was a vocal patriot. He was married for 40 years and is survived by his ex-wife, Mary Jean (Houser) Martin; sisters, Dolores Rightley and Paula Martin; children, Robert, Bryan, Michael, and Kara; and two grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at La Paloma Family Funeral Home (505-983-2555), 1424 4th Street, Santa Fe, NM 87505 at noon on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 with military burial at Santa Fe National Cemetery to immediately follow.
