Bernyce Christine Bowie, 86, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2006. Ms. Bowie was born on November 2, 1920 to Oscar and Helga (Mattsen) Bloomberg of Duluth, MN. Upon graduation from high school she moved to Rockford, IL to work in a munitions factory. It was during her employment at the factory that she met her future husband, Bill Bowie. Together, Bill and Bernyce, had owned and operated a restaurant. Ms. Bowie moved to the Rio Rancho area in 1995 and lived there until her death. She was a member of the Christian Women's Club. Ms. Bowie loved to sew, knit, and travel. Most importantly, she loved to be around her family. She received so much joy from attending "The Cousins" Reunion in Minnesota. Ms. Bowie was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 1983; a brother, Oscar Bloomberg in 1992; and a sister, Barbara Roberts in 2000. Ms. Bowie is survived by her three children, Carol Urwick and husband, Christopher of Goleta, CA; David Bowie of Rio Rancho, and Sandee Foster, and her husband, Robin, of Rio Rancho; four grandchildren, Mark Urwick, Matthew Urwick, Bryan Foster, and Melissa Foster; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Urwick, Edward Urwick, and Brody Foster (and another great-grandchild on the way); siblings, Stan Bloomberg, Audrey Smith, Annette Besveold; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, 4310 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho. Additional Services will be held in Duluth, MN.
