Obituary for APODACA

Ray Apodaca, a resident of Albuquerque for over 60 years, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 17, 2006. He is survived by his children, Regina Joyner and husband, Greg and Loretta Monget and husband, John all of Albuquerque, NM; three grandchildren, Christopher, Brittany, and Stephen; brother, Joe Apodaca of Albuquerque, NM; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Isabelle Apodaca; his mother and father, Margaret and Solomon Apodaca; sisters, Lucy Chavez and Julia Montoya; brothers, Primi, Arthur, and Pat Apodaca. Ray was born and raised in Socorro, NM. He joined the Army National Guard and served during WWII, after his service he taught carpentry under the GI bill and worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps. Mr. Apodaca married Isabelle in 1945 and had two daughters. They moved to Albuquerque in the 1950s and started their life here. After retirement he and his wife Isabelle loved to travel. Ray enjoyed his grandchildren and loved taking care of them in the early years. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Tuesday, December 19, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Cremation will follow and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE, on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Ennichment at Santa Fe National Cemetery will follow Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Ray's family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Sunrise Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for their loving care and support during this difficult time.
