Helen Eileen Murphy passed away on December 11, 2006. Born on November 27, 1921, to parents, James H. Simons and Ethyl Whitaker Simons, in Casper, WY, Helen remained a citizen of Albuquerque, NM for 41 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and Meals On Wheels for many years. Helen was on original founder of Snelling Personnel Services, along with her husband, Colonel John B. Murphy, who preceded her in death in 1984. She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Murphy of Belen, NM, and Jeannine Kontny and James of Los Lunas, NM; her sons, Patrick Murphy and Jerri of Albuquerque, NM, John Murphy Jr. of Washington, Richard Murphy and Natalia of Colorado, and Steve Murphy also of Albuquerque, NM; and her grandchildren, David, Mira, and Vladamir. A Rosary will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2006, at 7:00 p.m., in the Main Chapel at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, December 15, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
